作为爵士乐摇篮的新奥尔良，每年有50多万人造访，感受这个大型音乐节摇摆乐的氛围。这里汇集根源爵士乐与新派爵士，期间会有130多个音乐家登台演奏，而多个舞台和多样化的本土音乐风格交融，带给观众游客一种独特体验。这个音乐节刚开始的时候，参加这个节日的音乐家比观众还要多。如今，40年来一直用来举办这个节日的演出场地已经不够用了。 不单单是爵士，摇滚、流行、蓝调、福音、加勒比音乐、说唱乐以及所有跟这个城市有关的音乐风格，都会出现在此次音乐节上。
